At a certain size of team, success for the individual contributor means moving to a smaller team. Larger teams tend to support safer ventures while crowding out opportunities for meaningful contribution. If you feel unnecessary, or if you want more control over your work, maybe your team is just too big. You can solve two birds with one stone by switching teams. There are definitely places that could use you.
